Those cars are now 13-17 years old Toyota extended their warranty coverage for this issue for a pretty long time- but that coverage has long expired at this point The best solution at this point would likely to either have it repaired, which is likely to be costly- or to get an aftermarket dash cover that's compatible with the car's airbag

These new cars, if the system has no power for 30 minutes+, it will need to be reset, and I was told by the Toyota dealer, oftentimes, only the dealer can reset it, I do not have personal experience, so not sure it is true or not
